School History
Barangay Balogo opened its first secondary school in the year 2005 in response to the clamor of the majority of its residents. Dr. Lorenzo P. Ziga Memorial High School is now a decade of existence from its origin which was founded through the initiative and collaborative efforts of the barangay council headed by Punong Barangay Romeo O. Poliga Jr. with the assistance of LGU Pasacao headed by the Municipal Mayor Manuel SA. Lee Oliver, Jr. The school started to render service with only 3 classrooms, constructed with light materials, with few books, 100 students, 6 teachers under the supervision of the head teacher Mrs. Gloria B. Banas. With efforts of educators, school head and some concerned citizens, the school had been properly organized according to different programs especially required by the Department of Education and met the standard of quality instruction. At present , Dr. Lorenzo P. Ziga Memorial High School is now populated by 352 students from Barangay Balogo and other nearby barangay, manned and facilitated by a school head, 13 regular teachers and 2 volunteer teachers averaging at 50 students per class with 8 classes, 2 sections in grade 7 to fourth year. The school site was donated by Ms. Nelia A. Ziga, hence, the school was named after her father. It has an area of 3 hectares. It is now a complete secondary school. It has 7 buildings with 8 classrooms, 1 computer laboratory, 1 principal’s office and 1 faculty room with power supply and comfort rooms. |
